Smoking Meat Vieux in Montreal

This is Montreal's best smoked meat hands down. What an amazing sandwich. This place is a must try. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Also in the prefect location. Love this place!

The best smoked meat in Montreal with a beautiful location and extremely friendly staff. Highly recommend. Also, their homemade beer sangria is surprisingly AMAZING.

This place comes up every time I search for halal smoked meat. We walked a good 30 mins to get to this spot but they don’t serve halal meat. I wish I called to confirm first; it did seem too good to be true 🤦🏽‍♀️. It is right by the port so the walk wasn’t all a waste.

As mentioned by others bland Soggy small unappetizing beef Sandwich with fries and a tiny Serving of bland stale coleslaw.....even the smoked meat poutine wasn't appetizing.... would not recommend... Overpriced tourist trap ....keep walking and avoid!

A place to come to get a great tasting Montreal smoked meat sandwich, quality I can appreciate with the taste, full of flavor, but not spicy, and especially the moistness of the meat. Atmosphere isn't would what I prefer, highly recommended for anyone with taste buds that is highly sensitive.

Very friendly service and amazing smoked meat sandwiches. The smoked meat poutine is delicious and comes with baked potatoes, not fries so beware if you have a specific preference for French fries in poutine.

My boyfriend and I set out to find the best poutine and smoked meat in Montreal on our weekend trip (when in Rome!). Luckily for us we decided to take a horse drawn carriage ride through Old Montreal and asked our driver to take us to the best spot he knew of. This place not only had amazing staff, but the food was INCREDIBLE! A must go to spot for an amazing lunch! We will definitely be back next time we visit Montreal!

Great space. Ordered the 7oz beef sandwich, with a beer. Very tasty. Daughter went for two hotdogs. Which she ate without complaint. Which is an even bigger compliment.

My husband and I went on a food and history tour in Montreal and stopped here on the 4th stop. They had great sandwiches/smoked meats as well as a selection of local craft beers to buy. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. Check them out!

The absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced. Blonde waitress and chubby dude with a hat were the rudest people I’ve ever been served by in my life, not being dramatic, they limited me to two napkins and then questioned if I was a customer, after having just ordered from them seconds before. And even if I hadn’t, for napkins??? They literally told me “more napkins are in the bathroom”. Refused to speak English, and on top of everything the food was nothing special. Tourist trap, avoid at all cost.

The staff were friendly and the food was quick to arrive but the smoked meat poutine was some of the worst we've had anywhere. Should've known better than to get it in a touristy area of the city.

Amazing smoke meat and poutine! They have added an entire new level to the taste with their care and style in preparation of the foods. Great friendly service as well! Everything is organic and you can taste the difference. Highly recommend stopping here for a visit if your in the Old Montreal area.

First smoked sandwich experience in Montreal. Loved it.

This place is not smoking...smoked meat was pre-packed and warmed up. Bread was a bit stale, probably because they don’t finish a pack everyday. Hot dog was...I don’t really know. Coleslaw...KFC’s coleslaw is better. Beer: warm bottle, don’t order it! All in all, walk by and don’t go in.

I was there for the fireworks night, on December 31, 2016. I must say the smoked meat sandwich was amazing, the putine was so good and even their own version of Coca Cola was good. The service was also great.

The store is clean and have aGood employees! I’m not a big fan of smoked meat so I don’t know a lot about it ! But it was really good! They have a lot of good choices and you can sit outside enjoy montreal vibes while having your smoked meat dishes! I liked their iced Coffee I’m pretty sure that it’s the best iced coffee in Montreal! So make sure to not miss it!

Unforgettable homemade smoked meat with only local meats and the plus is that they have not only beef ,but Nagano pork, turkey and also Kobe beef(wagyu).Huummmm delicious!!!

I was mislead by the high rating, and I felt obliged to leave a review for this awful place. Small and pricy smoked meat sandwich, with a pale, undercooked and greasy fries. The coleslaw looked like the salads you buy and forgot at your fridge for weeks, and when you remember it, it is dark with a weird taste and you have to throw it out. I will never go back to this place.

If you love food, you really have to come here. I try the both smoked sandwiches (beef & pork) and couldn’t decide which one is the best one... they are so delicious and made only with local products. It’s a good place to visit here in Vieux-Port if you really want to have a quick lunch but with high quality food.

Previous reviews that say the coleslaw is tasteless and the smoked meat is terrible are 100% accurate. The owner is actually a fool to believe his products are good. The fact that he's been in business for 3 years is NOT because of his good food, but solely because of his location... a tourist trap. I demanded my money back and refused to eat that food. Don't waste your money at this place.If I could give this place less than a one star rating I would.

Best smoked meat sandwich I have ever eaten. I am giving this 3 stars because it's 20 dollars for a small sandwich, small bag of fries, small serving of coleslaw and a drink. I also don't like guilt tipping, in going to fast food style restaurants when using debit or credit they 1. ask for a tip and 2. you are asked to tip before receiving your meal. Me and wife split the meal as we didn't wanna spend $50 dollars on 2 sandwiches. I realize the process behind making the meat. They actually smoke it in house, food is amazing. If you don't mind spending a bit more you will be ok. Again best smoked meat I have had.

Absolutely incredible. By far the most amazing smoked meat I’ve had in my life. Space is nice and Julien is a wonderful person. Of all the things I experienced during my time in Montreal, I will remember his restaurant most.

The food is SO good! And Julian is such an amazing person. He took his time to really tell us about the quality of his food and we really did taste it! The whole vibe of the restaurant is so nice as well. Modern and relaxing!

I was drawn here because of the high ratings, but I didn't read the reviews before we went. I wish I would have because I agree with most of the reviews here, the smoked meat was excellent, but it was overpriced for a smaller portion of meat. The coleslaw wasn't anything spectacular either. I guess I was thinking since the Google rating was high there would be gads of meat on the sandwich, but it was small. I left feeling a bit disappointed and not satisfied.

The smoked meat was moist and warm. Definitely, the best smoked meat I've ever had! The service was great too :)
